Under the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) program, a ceremony to donate rice to people who were infected with COVID-19 pandemic during the second wave of COVID-19 was held at the meeting room of Department of Agriculture in Taungup Township of Rakhine State this morning.
At the event, Chairman of the Township Administration Council U Zar Ni Toe delivered an opening speech. Next, an official from the Township Department of Agriculture clarified the purposes of the donation of rice for COVID-19 victims. Afterwards, Chairman of the Township Administration Council and officials provided rice donated by Japan under the program of the ASEAN Plus Three Emergency Rice Reserve (APTERR) to 176 people who were infected with COVID-19 in the second wave of COVID-19 in the Township.
