Salin, 26 July

Some schools in the villages in Salin Township, Magway Region along the Ayeyawady River have been submerged by floodwaters.

The rising water level of the Ayeyawady River has led to the temporary closure of 13 schools in inundated villages. Among the closed schools are two high schools, one middle school and ten primary schools, according to a source from the township education officer’s office.

The students from the closed schools will be compensated for the missed lessons and will be given additional time to study when the floodwaters decrease.—IPRD
