The riverbank measuring 100 ft. in length and 100 ft. in width was collapsed due to the Irrawaddy riverbank erosion in Ganchaung Village in Nyaungdon Township, Maubin District of Ayeyarwady Region at 5:00 pm on November 26.
In the incident, five houses were swept away and family members were relocated to safer places due to the dangers of the riverbank erosion.
Family members from five households in the village are currently taking shelter in the homes of their relatives. They were provided with necessary assistance by the Township Disaster Management Department and local authorities. But no casualties have been reported in the incident. — Township IPRD
