Roundtable discussions titled “Youth and Scourge of Narcotic Drugs” were conducted this morning at the monastery in Kyunpako Village, Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State.

First of all, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Saw Chit Oo delivered an opening speech and staff officer of the Township Information and Public Relations Department Daw Khin San Myint clarified the purpose of the discussions.

At the meeting, scourge of drugs, impact of drug abuse on health, actions and penalties applied were discussed by chairman of Hlaingbwe Township anti-drug organization U Htay Win, Township Medical Assistant Dr Wat Yi Thein, Daw Phyu Sin Ei from Youth Charity Society, Township Law officer Daw Hnin Hnin Win, Police Capt Kyi Toe after which attendees raised questions what they want to know on discussions.

Also present on the occasion were Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Saw Chit Oo, staff officer of Township IPRD Daw Khin San Myint, village administrators and locals totaling 350.

IPRD
