Yangon, March 10
“No Plastic Campaign” group organized the 82nd rubbish collection campaign in the streets in Ward-6 in South Okkalapa township, Yangon region last Sunday.
Local residents, athletes from sports classes, members of local philanthropic groups in the township and staff from the township Development Committee participated in the campaign, collecting discarded plastic bags and rubbish.
Families in ward-6 served breakfast to the participants. The group plans to continue the rubbish collection campaign in ward-7 on March 15 as its 83rd activity.
Everyone, who want to turn the township they live in into a plastic-free area, can take part in the rubbish collection campaign, the group said.—Nay Htet Aung
