Torrential downpours caused a rural bridge that connects Pada Ywama and Ywa Thit villages to be deluged with water. The bridge was inundated by water yesterday morning and local residents are using Yangon- Kyaukphyu road for transportation.
Therefore, local people are facing transport difficulties and they are in need of new bridge or repair of the bridge.
The bridge experienced inundation of water last year and the locals cannot afford to repair the bridge on self-reliant basis. Therefore, the situation was submitted to the Rakhine State Government in summer season.
A total of 500 households are depending on the bridge for transportation. Accordingly, the local people want the officials to make repair of the bridge as soon as possible for safe and convenient transportation, said village administrator U Ohn Myint.
