An inauguration ceremony of a rural bridge built by the Department of Rural Development took place in Chaungwa Village, Katha Township in Sagaing Region this morning.
    

 

The rural bridge was formally opened by Speaker of the regional parliament U Than, Lower House MP U Myint Kyi, regional lawmaker U Nyi Nyi Tun, Township Administrator U Kyaw Thu and an official from the DRD by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. The wooden bridge is 200 ft. long, 12 ft. wide and 15 ft. high.

 


The rural bridge and improvement for a three-furlong long and 12 ft. wide earthen road were built with Ks. 10 million of the Village Development Plan (VDP) by the village development committee under the supervision of the DRD in the fiscal year 2018-2019.

 


Local people from three villages will be able to use the new bridge and road in all seasons with greater ease.—Han Myo Kyaw (Katha)
