Hlaingbwe 6 March

A rural concrete road was inaugurated in Htarthein Village, Hlaingbwe Township in Kayin State on Tuesday morning.

The ceremony was held at the archway of the road. An official from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and Village Administrator U Paung Nyo gave speeches. The road was formally opened by the DRD official, the leader of the technical advisory body of the township community driven development project, the village administrator and a member of the project supportive committee by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

The road measures 1944 ft. in length, 10 ft. in width and is 6 inch thick. It was built with about Ks. 23 million contributed by the community-driven project and local people. Residents in the village will be able to use the new road in all seasons with greater ease.—Min Myint Moh (Ngazun)
