Meiktila 25 March

Electricity being implemented under the Public Finance Initiative (PFI) is set to be supplied to 86 villages in Meiktila Township, Mandalay Region June this year.

Out of 380 villages from 58 village-tracts in Meiktila Township, 214 villages have been facilitated with electricity so far. The Electricity Supply Enterprise is attempting to ensure availability of rural electrification facilities in the villages through the local government budget or self-reliant basis and under the National Electrification Plan (NEP) or the PFI.

86 villages will be distributed electricity through sub-power stations or rural electrification structures being undertaken by the ESE, said an official from the township ESE.—Thein Myint Kyaw (Meiktila)
