A ceremony to launch rural electrification facilities took place in Thonsalpay Village, Madaya Township in Mandalay Region this morning.

At the event, two Buddhist monks, Regional Lawmaker U Min Min, Deputy Township Administrator U Zaw Win Kyaing, officials from the Electricity Supply Enterprise and village officials cut a ceremonial ribbon to inaugurate the rural electrification facilities. Afterwards, the regional MP made a speech and an official from the township ESE shared knowledge about the risks of electricity and handed over pamphlets to a village official who spoke words of thanks.


Four electrification structures were built in six villages at a cost of more than Ks. 178 million with allotted funds of the local government in the financial year 2018-2019. “We are very happy with facilitating with electricity in our village and I would like to express thanks to concerned officials for their contributions,” a local resident said.—Soe Kyaw Thu Htwe (Madaya)
