A ceremony to launch a rural electrification facility took place in Yay Chaung Bo Village in Madaya Township, Mandalay Region this morning.
The rural electrification structure was inaugurated by Lower House MP U Zaw Min Lwin, Mandalay Region MP U Min Min, an official from the Electricity Supply Enterprise, and a member of the village electrification committee by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Afterwards, the local lawmaker delivered an address and an official from the ESE disseminated knowledge about the risks of electricity and presented certificates of honour to the donors.
“I am very delighted at providing electricity to the village,” a resident said. Madaya Township consists of 288 villages and the newly-launched electrification facility which was installed at a cost of 18 million kyats became the 200th of its kind in the township.
So far 120 out of 128 homes in the village have reportedly been supplied with the electricity.
