A rural electrification project being carried out in Yangyiaung Village in Gyobingauk Township, Bago Region under the Village Development Plan (VDP) is completed, according to the Department of Rural Development.
The electricity is distributed to residents from 71 families in the village since October 24, the DRD said. The rural electrification facility was implemented by the DRD by spending K 10 million funded by the local government and K 1.4 million donated by local people, said U Min Naing, Mayin Chaungkhwa Village-tract Administrator.
The rural electrification projects were undertaken in five villages in Gyobingauk Township in the financial year 2019-2020. Construction of all rural electrification projects has already been completed and will be commissioned into service soon.
The rural electrification structures are expected to improve the socioeconomic status and living standard of the rural people.
