A rural electrification facility which was constructed on a self-reliant basis, was inaugurated Maekayo Village, Kyaikmaraw Township in Mon State this morning.
The electrification structure was opened by Deputy Speaker of the Mon State parliament Dr. Aung Naung Oo, the township administrator and an official from the Electricity Supply Enterprise by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Speaking on the occasion, the deputy speaker of the Mon State parliament said that inauguration of a self-reliant electrification facility reflects unity of local people; adding residents will be able to carry out education, health and social matters in real time.
An official from the Electricity Supply Enterprise explained matters relating to the electrification project and a local spoke words of thanks. More than 1600 people from 289 households now have electricity access, said a youth from the village.—Cho Myat Myat Htwe (IPRD)
