Chief Minister of Magway Region Dr. Aung Moe Nyo attended a ceremony to inaugurate a rural electrification facility in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region on Sunday.

Ks. 18 million allocated by the regional government’s mini-budget in the fiscal year 2018-2019 was spent on construction of a power transmission line and a transformer to supply electricity to rural people in Seikphyu Township. A rural electrification facility was built with Ks. 62 million on a self-reliant basis by residents to distribute electricity from the power transmission line.
The village electrification signboard was opened by the Chief Minister, Speaker of the regional parliament U Tar, Deputy Speaker of the regional parliament U Zaw Myo Win, Regional Minister for Natural Resources, Environment, Electricity and Energy U Myint Zaw, Lower House MP U Aung Thaik, Upper House Lawmaker U Mya Min Swe, and Deputy Superintending Engineer U Htwar Maung. Next, the rural electrification facility followed at the hall of a basic education high school in Letse Village.
The chief minister and his entourage also attended an inauguration ceremony of a new monastery built with donations of disciples in Kushae Village. A prominent Buddhist monk, the chief minister, the regional parliament speaker, the regional minister, the Lower House MP, the Upper House legislator, and the chairperson of the township National League for Democracy U Kan Kaung cut a ceremonial ribbon to open the monastery.—Soe Lin Naing (IPRD)
