A ceremony to inaugurate a rural electrification facility was held in Chaungma Village, ChaungU Township in Sagaing Region this morning.
Firstly, Lower House MP for ChaungU constituency U Myo, regional lawmaker U Win Myint Khin and Deputy Township Administrator U Win Thet Lin gave speeches. Afterwards, an official from the Department of Rural Development explained matters relating to the implementation of the Emerald Green Project and a local spoke words of thanks.
Next, the rural electrification structure was opened by lawmakers, departmental officials and local authorities by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. More than Ks. 12.4 million contributed by the Emerald Green Project and donated by local people was spent on construction of a rural electrification facility and installation of a power transmission line.
The project began in the fiscal year 2015-2016 and took three years to complete, said Daw Khin Soe Win, Deputy Staff Officer from the DRD.—Ei Ei Soe
