Mongkai, December 7
    

An inter-village road is being built by the Border Areas and National Races Development Department under the Ministry of Border Affairs in Mongkai Township, Southern Shan State.
    

Construction of the earthen type facility which is being built with the use of funds allotted by the local government in the current fiscal year started on November 21. The rural road will be 8 miles and four furlongs long, according to the local officials. Chairman of the township development committee Township Administrator U Ye Tun Aung and Assistant Director U San Maung made a field trip to construction of the rural road on December 6.
    

The rural road is currently used by 4,802 residents from 1,293 households from 20 villages. Once completed, the rural road will contribute to not only socioeconomic development but also education and transportation of people on the hilly areas.
