Hlaingbwe, 30 December
An event to inaugurate a new concrete road was held in Kyaungyay Village in Hlaingbwe Township, Kayin State on December 29.
The rural road was opened by an abbot of the village monastery, a village-tract administrator, and an engineer from the township community-driven project by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Construction of the rural road began on November 19 and was completed on December 22.
The road measuring 2,136 ft. long, 12 ft. wide and 6 inch thick was built at a cost of more than 27.1 million kyats financed under the community-driven project and contributed by local people.
The newly-opened rural road facilitates health, education, economic and social activities of 807 locals from 149 households in the village.
