Kyaikmaraw, 8 April
An inauguration ceremony of a new concrete road which was built on a self-reliant basis took place in Kotkelar Village in Kyaikmaraw Township, Mon State this morning.
The new road was formally opened by the Amyotha Hluttaw MP U Khin Zaw Oo, Lawmaker for Mon State parliament Daw Khin Myo Myint and the chairman of the road construction committee by cutting a ceremonial ribbon. Next, the Mon State legislator explained the purpose of constructing the road and a youth spoke words of gratitude.
The newly-opened road was built with cash donated by residents and cement bags contributed by the local government with the intention of catching up to other regions and state’s development in accordance with characteristics of democracy.—Cho Myat Myat Htwe (IPRD)
