A new concrete road undertaken by the Department of Rural Development under its Village Development Plan (VDP) was inaugurated in Taguntaing Village, Papun Township in Kayin State this morning.

First, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Sai Than Naing made a speech and an official from the DRD explained the aims and processes of the DRD, and construction of rural roads. Next, the rural road was launched by the Upper House MP, Assistant Commissioner U Myo Aung, and officials from the DRD by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

The new road is 730 ft. long, 10 ft. wide and 6 inch thick and was built with Ks. 10 million funded by the DRD.
