A ceremony to inaugurate a rural road was held in Kannarsu Village, Letpadan Township in Bago Region yesterday.
The 4,000 ft. long, 10 ft. wide and 6-inch thick road is of gravel type and connects five villages. It was built at a cost of Ks. 6 million under the Emerald Green Project. Local people from five villages will be able to transport and sell their products in another area conveniently, said U Htay Zaw, an official from the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation.
The opening ceremony of the rural gravel road was also attended by regional lawmaker U Myo Aung, departmental staff and residents.—Zeyar Tun (Gyobinbauk)
