A gravel road plus staff housing for employees from the Department of Education are being built by the Department of Rural Development in Bawpyin Village, Gangaw Township in Magway Region.

The Emerald Green Project has been implemented in the village since 2015-2016 FY by spending more than Ks. 11 million. Ks. 5 million was spent on construction of a 1675 ft. long, 18 ft. wide and 3 inch thick gravel road. In addition Ks. 2.5 million has been contributed to build a house for the teachers, said an official from the DRD. The gravel road and staff housing were inaugurated on 10 July.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative Daw Yin Min Hlaing, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Pyue Lwin, District Education Officer U Sein Aung, Township Education Officer U Kyaw Soe Lin and officials from the DRD.—IPRD
