U Saw Htoo, Deputy Director from the District Supervisory Development Office inspected construction of an inter-village road in Kawkareik Township, Kayin State this morning.


The one mile and six furlongs long rural road linking Thameindut, Kayin and Kanyinkataik Villages is being built by the Border Areas and National Races Development Department under the Ministry of Border Affairs in Shan Ywathit Town, Kayin State at a cost of 197 million kyats and the project has been 25 percent finished so far.


Upon completion, locals nearby villages will be able to use the road in all seasons with better ease and export their products to other areas in a convenient manner.


The rural road is expected to benefit 13,635 people from 2,170 households from 14 villages in the township.
