Rural roads are being built by the Department of Rural Development in Pyawbwe Township in Mandalay Region to help rural people sell their agricultural products in the market in time.
Two rural road measuring 7,450 ft. long, 12 ft. wide, and 9 inch thick plus six box culverts are being built by a tender winning company “Zwe Wathan Co” with Ks. 180.85 million allotted by the local government in the fiscal year 2019-2020 and the project is about 95 percent completed. In addition the gravel road also includes four culverts, said an official from the DRD.
Upon completion of the project, the rural road will benefit more than 1,000 acres of farmland belonging to the rural people in two villages and its nearby villages.—Phyo Htet Aung (Pyawbwe)
