An inauguration ceremony of a solar mini-grid which was implemented by the Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation under the National Electrification Plan (NPE) took place in Lalma Village, Hsinpaungwe Township in Magway Region yesterday morning.

First, Magway Region Chief Minister Dr. Aung Moe Nyo, French Ambassador to Myanmar Mr. Christian and the Lower House MP U Nay Htet Win pressed a button to open a stone inscription of the facility. Next, Regional Minister for Agriculture, Livestock Breeding and Irrigation U Win Maw Htay, Regional Minister for Natural Resource, Electricity and Energy Dr. Khin Maung Aye and Director-General of the DRD U Khant Zaw formally opened the electrification structure by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.

Speeches by the regional chief minister, French ambassador and the director-general of DRD followed. On behalf of local people, the chairman of the village electrification committee spoke words of thanks. The rural electrification facility was built with cash contributions by the DRD, local people and the developer.—Nay Chi (IPRD)
