The Department of Rural Development under the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation is carrying out tasks to ensure sufficient drinking water in summer in seven villages in Salin Township, Magway Region.

The DRD digs up seven tubewells, builds six brick water tanks and one water storage facility capable of holding 2400 gallons of water, and one water treatment plant in Tamar Chaung, Minlyan, Ohehtein, Yayle, Kokkokyin, Ashaegon and Thazi Villages at a cost of Ks. 148.30 million funds allocated in the fiscal year 2019-2020.

Once completed, adequate drinking water would be supplied to nearly 3,800 residents from 781 households from seven villages in all season, said an official from the township DRD.—Nyein Thu (Salin)
