THREE Russian Navy vessels – corvettes Sovershennyy and Rezkiy, and medium-sized oil tanker Pechenga – arrived yesterday evening at the MITT Jetty, Thilawa Port, Yangon, for a goodwill visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.
Officers from the Tatmadaw (Navy), the Russian military attaché, and officials welcomed the ships. The visiting fleet, led by Captain (1st Rank) Andrei Gaevoi, includes 350 officers and other ranks. They will stay in Myanmar for six days until 10 March, during which friendly sports matches between the two countries will take place. — MNA/KZL
