After hearing the reports, the Senior General said the Shwenyaung-Taunggyi railway upgrading project aims to benefit the local people, further develop trading of commodities, transport domestic minerals and products and attract travellers. In the future, the railway will be extended to the Pa-O region. The railway must be built systematically similar to the Bawa Thanthaya railway. Guard rails must be placed along the railways near the motor roads for ensuring safety. Moreover, the railway must be facilitated with toe walls, retaining walls, conduits and drains.
