Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla paid homage to Inlay PhaungdawOo Pagoda in Nyaungshwe Township of Shan State (South) yesterday.
The Senior General and his wife presented cash to the all-round development fund of the pagoda to the chairman of the pagoda board of trustees who returned Dhamma gifts.
The Senior General and party also paid homage to PhaungdawOo Sayadaw Bhaddanta Vijaya at Sein and Mya (Diamond and Emerald) monastery in the precinct of the Pagoda and donated offerings and cash for nine prerequisites . They then asked about the health conditions of Sayadaw and the sustainability of the pagoda and sought advice from Sayadaw.
After observing the regional handicrafts and traditional costume stalls, the Senior General instructed the officials to provide technical assistance to produce better regional products, arrangements to ensure One Village One Product scheme and conduct preparations for peaceful and convenient visits of local and foreign travellers in the coming summer holidays.
Then, the Senior General and party went round Inlay Lake by motor schooner to see the regional development and environmental conservation of Inlay region. — MNA/KTZH
