SAC Chairman Prime Minister inspects progress in building Maravijaya Buddha Image

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspected progress of building Maravijaya Buddha Image which would be the largest marble Buddha image in Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory yesterday morning.

 

Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin, Lt-Gen Nyo Saw and senior military officers reported to the Senior General on implementation of the guidance of the Senior General on his inspection tour, progress of carving the Buddha image, construction of the water fountain roundabout and the Ceti of stone plaque chambers, carving of stone inscription with the use of modern machinery, preparations to build Nagayon Pagoda and publishing of Tri Pitakat treatises.

 

In his reponse, the Senior General said that Tri Pitakat treatises must be published in meeting the international standards. Donors must be urged to participate in sponsorship of publishing the treatises. Officials need to supervise construciton of chambers for stone plaques to be resiliance of climatic conditions and long term existence.

 

The Senior General inspected construction of rough throne for the image, carving of stone inscriptions with the use of modern technologies, completion of Mingala Bridge in Yadanabon era style, construction of retaining walls, completion of Thudhamma public rest houses, and progress of Mucalinda lake and stone plaque chambers and left necessary instructions.

 

Construction tasks of the Buddha image such as conveyance of marble rocks to be carved into Maravijaya Buddha Image, carving of stone inscriptions with the use of CNC machines, construction of stone plaque chambers, carving of stone plaques with the use of CNC machines and progress of Thudhamma public rest houses, Sasana Beikman Aggadhipati Visugama ordination hall, Mucalinda Lake, water fountain roundabout, Mingala Bridge in Yadanabon era style and others, accounting for some 40 per cent.—MNA
