State Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Spe­cial Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China Mr Deng Xijun at the parlour of the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw yester­day.

They cordially discussed the holding of peace talks with ethnic armed organization to ensure peace in border and in­terior areas, the participation of China in peace processes, bilat­eral cooperation in combatting drugs, the facility to streamline the bilateral trade and border peace, enhancement of bilat­eral relations and cooperation, further cooperation in econom­ic growth and various sectors between the two countries, po­litical situation of Myanmar, international cooperation and regional peace and stability.

Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt- Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials. The Special Envoy was accompanied by officials of the Chinese Embassy in Myan­mar. —MNA/KTZH
