A new concrete road in Thankyolann vil­lage, Ngapudaw Township, Ayeyawady Region was officially opened yesterday afternoon to mark the 63rd Farmers’ Day.

 

State Administration Council Mem­ber Mahn Nyein Maung, along with regional Chief Minister U Tin Maung Win and the minister for Natural Re­sources participated in the ribbon-cut­ting ceremony.

 

The road, funded through the Vil­lage Development Project (VDP) for the 2024-2025 financial year, measures 1,050 feet in length, 10 feet in width, and six inches in depth. Following the opening, the officials inspected the road and interacted with locals, presenting awards and cash to performers.

 

The SAC member and party then visited the local high school, where the SAC member encouraged students to focus on their studies and prepare for future responsibilities. They also pledged support to teachers and school staff and presented foodstuffs to stu­dents preparing for matriculation ex­ams. They proceeded to the nearby indigenous community to observe their educational initiatives and provided food to the people. — MNA/KZL
