A ceremony to set on fingerlings free into the Thanlwin River at Tayokhla river water pumping station in Hpa-an Township of Kayin State yesterday morning.

 

Chief Minister of Kayin State U Saw Myint Oo explained releasing of more than 150,000 two-inch fingerlings produced from Hpa-an and Kyondoe fish­ery stations into the Thanlwin River.

 

Members of the State Ad­ministration Council Mahn Nyein Maung and Saw Daniel, Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Myint Kyaing, Dr Pwint San, U Min Thein Zan, Dr Thet Thet Khaing and U Saw Tun Aung Myint and the Chief Minister, officials and local peo­ple participated in the fingerling releasing ceremony.

 

They also joined the cer­emony to release hot-air bal­loons of Tazaungdine festival organized by the Kayin State government at Myoma football ground in Ward 3 of Hpa-an. They then presented awards to 11 departments which released hot-air balloons and the Kayin traditional cultural don dance troupes.

 

They also paid homage to Shweyinhmyaw Pyidawaye pagoda in Hpa-an. Afterwards, they donated alms to Kyaukkal­at Monastery Sayadaw Bhadd­anta Vimala and paid homage to Kyaukkalat Pagoda in Hpa-an.—MNA
