State Administration Council members and Union ministers opened the Nyeinchanthaya swimming pool, which was con­structed in commemorating the 75th Anniversary (Diamond Ju­bilee) Kachin State Day, in My­itkyina.

 

SAC members Jeng Phang Naw Taung, U Moung Har, U Sai Lon Seng, U Shwe Kyein, and Union Ministers Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung, U Maung Maung Ohn, U Hla Moe, U Thaung Han, U Aung Naing Oo, Dr Nyunt Pe, U Min Thein Zan, U Myo Thant, U Saw Tun Aung Myint, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, Deputy Ministers Maj-Gen Phyo Thant and U Zaw Aye Maung, officers from Tatmadaw, the chief justice of Kachin State High Court, ministers of the state gov­ernment attended the ceremony.

 

Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan said that Kachin State should be proud to be the first to build and open a new indoor swimming pool out of all regions and states. State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan delivered a speech afterwards. Then, the documents and information regarding the swimming pool were handed over by the Myanmar Maker Home Company, which constructed the swimming pool, to the state min­ister for social affairs.

 

Next, SAC members and the state chief minister pressed the button to open the signboard.

 

The Nyeinchanthaya swim­ming pool, which was opened yesterday, is a 50-metre-long and 25-metre-wide international-level swimming pool with 10 swimming lanes. — State IPRD/KZW
