The State Administration Council of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held the Waso robe-offering ceremony for 2023 at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, attended by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla.
Led by Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thanlyin Minkyaung Pahtamapyan Monastery Presiding Patron Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, members of the Sangha graced the Maha Mingala ceremony.
The Senior General and wife offered Waso robe and alms to Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Thanlyin Minkyaung Pahtamapyan Monastery Presiding Patron Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa.
SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe also donated Waso robe and offerings to SSMNC Vice-Chairman Presiding Patron of Thiho Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre from Kyaukme of Shan State Agga Maha Pandita Dr Bhaddanta Cadanasara.
The council secretary and wife, the joint secretary and wife, council members and their wives, Union level officials, union ministers and senior military officers also presented Waso robes and offertories to members of the Sangha.
The Senior General and wife together with attendees offered day meals to members of the Sangha. —MNA/TTA
