STATE Administration Council Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe attended the Christmas Thanksgiving Ceremony held yesterday morning at St Mi­chael’s Catholic Church in Yan Aung 1 Ward, Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

 

Together with the SAC Secretary and his wife, SAC Members U Wunna Maung Lwin, Daw Dwe Bu, Porel Aung Thein, Dr Hmuh Thang, Dr Ba Shwe, Khun San Lwin and their wives, U Saw Htun Aung Myint, head of the Central Advisory Body of the State Administra­tion Council, and members, Union ministers, senior Tat­madaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services and their wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Coun­cil chairman, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and their wives, priests, nuns, Catholic youth groups, Chris­tians, and invitees from within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area were also present at the event.

 

The Christmas celebration was opened by Bishop Soe Lin Aung with a prayer, followed by Christian youth singing hymns and a welcome speech by Bishop U Kyaw Nyein. Gen­eral Aung Lin Dwe delivered a Christmas greeting, and Bishop U Aung Zaw delivered a special speech of greetings.

 

The SAC Secretary and his wife sang the hymn “Silent Night, Holy Night” together with those attending the cer­emony. The priests and nuns presented the Secretary of the State Administration Council with a Christmas commemo­rative gift and a letter of ap­preciation, and the gift of fruit was returned as a Christmas commemorative gift.

 

SAC Secretary General Aung Lin Dwe, his wife, and members warmly greeted the Christian faithful who attend­ed the Christmas celebration. Afterwards, the SAC Secretary, council members, and Union ministers presented Christ­mas gifts and foodstuffs to the priests, and nuns. They also enjoyed a communion lunch to commemorate the birth of Christ (Christmas). — MNA/ TS
