Accompanied by the speaker of the regional parliament, regional lawmakers, the deputy commissioner and township administrators, Chief Minister of Sagaing Region Dr. Myint Naing looked into progress of developmental tasks in Indaw and Wuntho Townships on Sunday.
The chief minister and his entourage inspected preparations made to hold a sermon to be preached by Chancellor of the Sitagu International Buddhist Academies Abhidaja Agga Maha Rattha Guru Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara to mark the conveyance of the world largest drum in a public sport grounds in Indaw Township. They then paid homage to Sulamuni Pagoda and donated offertories to an abbot in Wuntho Township.
The chief minister also inspected a mountain road that leads to the pagoda and urged the locals and departmental officials to participate in the development of tourism industry in the region. They also checked out construction of a 135 ft. long rural bridge on the Hsingon-Wuntho-Pinlebu Road being built by the Department of the Bridge under the Ministry of Construction where they instructed concerned officials to meet the set standard and called for timely completion of the project.
Afterwards, they proceeded to Indaw Township to oversee construction of three-storey RC hospital. In the meeting, they received a sermon administered by the Chancellor of the Sitagu International Buddhist Academies Abhidaja Agga Maha Rattha Guru Sitagu Sayadaw Dr. Ashin Nyanissara to mark the conveyance of the world largest drum in a public sport grounds.—Tun Ko Ko (Yinmarbin)
