A Saudi-led coalition has launched a series of airstrikes on an area of Yemen controlled by anti-government forces. More than 60 people were reportedly killed.

The Iran-backed Houthi rebels say a detention center in the southern province of Dhamar was bombed early on Sunday. They say 60 people have been killed and 50 wounded.

The Saudi-led coalition, which supports the ousted government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi, says it was targeting storage for drones and missiles.

The Houthis have retaliated with drone and missile attacks on key Saudi Arabian facilities.

The civil war in Yemen that began more than four years ago also involves a third force, a separatist group. The separatists have broken away from the Saudi-led coalition and are battling the Houthi rebels.
