Forestry officials seized Illegal teak logs from a luxury car on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region this morning.

Acting on a tipoff, authorities from the Forest Department together with eye witnesses stopped a luxury car near a tollgate on the Yangon-Mandalay Expressway in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region at about 6:30 a.m. today. The driver denied to stop the car and attempted to leave the scene. But about 20 minutes later, the driver left the car about four miles from the tollgate and fled the scene.
The search of a luxury car led to the discovery of 46 teak logs weighing 1.2942 tons. Action is being taken against the driver who is on the run under the forest law by the police.—Lu Aung (Katha)
