SEA Games: Myanmar wins 2 silver, 6 bronze medals in Arnis sport

Myanmar men and women athletes won two silver and six bronze medals in Arnis, the national sport and martial art of the Philippines, yesterday at the stadium of Angeles University Foundation, Clark City, the Philippines.
In the 55-kg men’s event, Myanmar’s Soe Paing won the silver medal. The Philippines won the gold medal and Viet Nam and Cambodia took the bronze medals in the event.
Meanwhile, Win Thet Paing of Myanmar took the bronze medal in the (+55-65kg) featherweight class, and Thet Naing Win secured a bronze medal in the 60-65 kg class. Ban Hlian Kawl of Myanmar grabbed the bronze medal in +65-kg weight class.
In the women’s event, Thandar Khaing (Myanmar) took the bronze medal in the 50-kg weight class and Hla Nwe Aye (Myanmar) also grabbed bronze in the 50-55 kg weight class, while Moe Moe Aye (Myanmar) won the bronze in the 50-60 kg weight class.
And, in the +60-kg weight class, Thet Wai Oo (Myanmar) took the silver medal for Myanmar after losing to her Viet Nam opponent in the final.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
