Myitkyina, 8 March

The second gem emporium will be held in Myitkyina on a grander scale than the previous one, according to Myitkyina Gem Entrepreneurs Association.

The free event runs from 29 March to 3 April with finished articles being displayed extensively.

To make the emporium a success, a leading committee was formed with U Dahshi Hla Hsai, the state minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation as chairman and germ entrepreneurs in Kachin State as chairmen of subcommittees.

The second emporium will sell gems and jades in Myanmar currency whereas the next third emporium will sell gems and jades in US$, it is learnt.—EPN
