THE 13th-day meeting of Second Pyithu Hluttaw’s 14th regular session was held at Pyithu Hluttaw building yesterday morning.

In the asterisk marked question and answer session questions raised by U Myint Oo of Thanatpin constituency on repairing and upgrading Bago-Sittaung canal embankment road; U Ne Lin Aung of Mindat constituency on a plan to built a suspension bridge over a creek between two villages in Mindat Township; U Lagan Ze Jone of Waingmaw constituency on a plan to repair and reconstruct main roads and bridges in Waingmaw Township inundated by Ayeyawady River; U Myint Tun of Taze constituency on stating reason and informing companies for rejections or non-selection in contract tenders and U Kyaw Min of Letpadan constituency on upgrading a pedestrian bridge used by five villages in Letpadan Township were answered by Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin.
Questions raised by U Than Lin Lin of Mesei constituency on relevant ministry promoting Myay Nandaw or Nat Taung in Mesei Township Hojit village tract near Kyaiktiyo Pagoda as a tour destination and U Aung Kyaw Kyaw Oo of Hline constituency on plan to restrict We Chat Pay and Alipay online payment systems and arrangements to prevent zero budget tour programmes were answered by Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism U Tin Latt.
Micro Financing Bill
Following the asterisk marked question and answer session Pyithu Hluttaw Banking and Financial Development Committee secretary U Tin Tun Naing tabled Micro Financing Bill and Bill Committee member U Nay Myo Tun read a report on it.
Afterwards, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U T Khun Myat announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to table amendment motion on the bill to register their names.
Hluttaw discuss motion no posting particulars about tenders on website
Next, Daw Nan Htwe Thu of Pasawng constituency, U Win Myint Oo (a) U Nay Myo of Nyaungshwe constituency, U Sai Saing Mai of Mongkai constituency, U Lama Naw Aung of Injangyan constituency, Daw Yin Min Hlaing of Gangaw constituency and U Sai Okker of Laikha constituency discussed a motion tabled by Daw Nan Kham Aye of Namtu constituency urging Union, State/Region governmental departments to post particulars about tenders invited, tender winning company and the tender work conducted until completion.
In discussing the motion Deputy Minister for Construction U Kyaw Lin said the matter was repeatedly mentioned in construction work assessment committee meetings but some relevant ministries and personnel from state/region governments reported on lack of technical expertise while there were weaknesses and difficulties in capacity building. The ministry was announcing tenders in state own media as well on ministry website and social media. To ensure transparency, sign boards providing particulars of the construction works such as construction work type, tender value, responsible engineer, particulars about the work, contact department/ company etc. were instructed to be setup and recommended the motion to be approved. As there was no objection, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker announced the motion approved by the Hluttaw
Committee annual reports read and submitted and another committee annual report approved
Later Pyithu Hluttaw transport, communication & construction committee annual report Pyithu Hluttaw International Relations committee annual report were read by committee secretary Daw Yin Min Hlaing and committee member U Myo Zaw Aung respectively.
After the reports were read, Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker announced for Hluttaw representatives who want to discuss the report to register their names.
As a final agenda of the day Pyithu Hluttaw health and sports development committee secretary Dr Than Win tabled a motion for the Hlutttaw to agree and accept the committee annual report.
