A ceremony to return the seized backhoes to the owners was held at the meeting hall of Mohnyin District General Administration Department yesterday. Those backhoes were engaged in illegal gold mining in the district on July, 2017.

In the event, Kachin State Chief Minister Dr. Khet Aung disclosed that the state government has conducted many rounds of negotiations with the Union government to reach an agreement on the return of  the seized backhoes to the owners in accord with procedures. The seizure of the backhoes inflicted losses on the owners and per capital income in the region.

Then, the chief minister gave back 40 backhoes which were seized in illegal gold mines in the villages of Mongnaung and Ma Mongkaing in Mohnyin Township to the owners and U Kyi Lin, one of the owners expressed thanks.— Kyaw Kyaw Htwe ( District IPRD)
