A ceremony to destroy seized exhaust-pipes was held near Meiktila Township General Administration Department this morning.

With the aim to ensure road safety and to raise public awareness on 2020 Vehicle Law, officials from Traffic Police Force shared knowledge on road safety and warned people who ride motorbikes with noisy exhaust-pipes. Then, the motorbikes with noisy exhaust-pipes were seized starting from April, 2019 until now. At the ceremony, a total of 163 confiscated exhaust-pipes were destroyed with a rolling machine.  

In 2020, there are a total of 46 vehicles and 253 motorbikes that fail to comply with the regulations. Sixteen vehicles without license were confiscated in 2019 and 12 vehicles without license until January 2020 were also seized, according to an official from the Township Traffic Police Force.
