A group of local authorities consisting of the Pyithu Hluttaw Representative Daw Wint War Tun, Amyotha Hluttaw Representative U Aung Kyaw Soe presented social pension to the senior citizens above 85 years old in Shadaw Township, Kayah State on 27 March.
The provision furnished by the Department of Social Welfare under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement was presented to 11 elderly people throughout the township by Township Administrator U Aung Htike, the lawmakers and local authorities.
The department has also lowered eligibility age for pension payments to 85 from 90 years since this December. The cash assistance was presented to elderly people once in three months.—Tun Aung (IPRD)
