Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Maha Tharay Sithu Min Aung Hlaing addressed the 21th Intake of the Defence Services Technological Academy (DSTA) held at its parade ground in Pyin Oo Lwin yesterday.
It was also attended by his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Union Minister for Defence Lt-General Zeya Kyawhtin Sein Win and wife, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Zeya Kyawhtin Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commander in Chief (Navy) Admiral Zeya Kyawhtin Tin Aung San and wife, Commander in Chief (Air Force) General Zeya Kyawhtin Maung Maung Kyaw and wife, senior military officers and wives, the Commander of Central Command, the commandant of Defence Services Technological Academy, senior military officers from Pyin Oo Lwin Station, invited guests and close relatives of graduate cadets.
Senior General Maha Tharay Sithu Min Aung Hlaing took salutes of the graduate cadet battalions and inspected them before they saluted him with a slow-march and a quick-march.

The Senior General then presented awards to the most outstanding cadets.
In his speech to the graduate cadets, the Senior General said that the DSTA had trained the cadets in accordance with its purpose ‘to generate well-rounded engineering graduate officers for the national Tatmadaw to protect and safeguard the sovereignty of the State’.
He added that the Tatmadaw is a part of the State, as well as of the people, and that they would have to work for national tasks of public needs, peace, stability, unity, socioeconomic development of ethnic people, in addition to the military’s defence duties, in respective areas.
He also called for building a modern Tatmadaw with enough military might to protect the union citizens, national interests and sovereignty of the State.
The Senior General urged the graduate cadets to improve their capacities to become reliable leaders in their duties, to follow military orders, rules, principles and the 60 Military Code of Conduct for the unity of military, while they are protecting lives and property of people.
In the evening, the graduation dinner was hosted at the Pyinnyadazaung Hall of the academy.
At the dinner, the Senior General greeted the graduate officers and had dinner together with the graduate officers and their parents and relatives, according to a report of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.—MNA (Translated by Aung Khin)
