Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing who was in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) on a friendly visit was welcomed by Gen. Li Zuocheng, member of China’s Central Military Commission (CMC) and Chief of the Joint Staff Department with a Guard of Honor at the Ba Yi Building, Beijing yesterday afternoon.

 


After the ceremonial welcome the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met with China CMC member and Chief of the Joint Staff Department in the meeting hall of the Ba Yi Building.

 


At the meeting matters relating to cooperation between the two militaries in training and health sectors, cooperation in counter terrorism and stability of the border region between the two countries and increasing the friendship between the two militaries were cordially discussed and views exchanged.

 


Next Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met with General Xu Qiliang, Vice Chairman 1 of China’s CMC and discussed strengthening the friendship between the two militaries.

 


Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief met Mr. Song Tao, Head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China at the China Communist Party Central Committee, International Department meeting hall yesterday.

 


During the meeting status of establishing development of Myanmar and mutual benefits from cooperation between the two militaries, China’s support and participation in development of Myanmar and internal peace, development in Myanmar possible only after having peace and stability, level wise friendly visits and mutual visits between the two militaries were discussed.

 


After this meeting the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party were hosted to a luncheon by the Head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China. In the evening the party led by the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief was hosted to a dinner by China CMC member and Chief of the Joint Staff Department.

 


Earlier in the morning the Tatmadaw Commander-in-Chief and party paid homage to the Buddha tooth relic at Lingguang Temple, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. — MNA
