Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was on a goodwill visit to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, attended the 30th Anniversary of National Armed Forces Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence of Vietnam (K-2000) in Viet Nam yesterday.
The event was also attended by Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mrs Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Chairwoman of the National Assembly of Vietnam Mrs Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, senior officers from the Government and party of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, senior officers of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces, leaders of the delegations from ASEAN member countries, Russia and China, officials and invited guests.
In the afternoon, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and party met with the families of the Myanmar Embassy and Military Attaché’s Office and Myanmar government scholars in Viet Nam.
In the evening, the Senior General and party departed from Noi Bai International Airport in Viet Nam and arrived at the Mingaladon Airbase where officials welcomed them.
On 20 December, the Senior General paid a courtesy call to the Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Mr Nguyen Xuan Phuc together with leaders of delegations from ASEAN member countries, Russia and China who will be attending the 30th Anniversary of National Armed Forces Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Armed Forces.
First, the Vietnamese Prime Minister cordially greeted the leaders of the respective delegations and made a speech.
Afterwards, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing delivered a speech on behalf of the armed forces of the ASEAN countries.
In his speech, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing said that ASEAN countries are implementing One Vision, One Identity, and One Community. In so doing, all armed forces need to cement friendly relations in unity in their respective sectors. The Senior General, on behalf of the ASEAN armed forces, expressed his wish at the ceremony to mark the 30th National Armed Forces Day and the 75th Founding Anniversary of Vietnam People’s Armed Forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, praying for Vietnam, the Vietnamese people and the Vietnamese Armed Forces to shine brilliantly in prestige and integrity.
In the evening, the Senior General and party attended a dinner hosted by the Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army in honour of delegates from various countries who attended the ceremony to mark the 30th National Armed Forces Day and the 75th Founding Anniversary of Vietnam People’s Armed Forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam at the Melia Hotel in Hanoi, according to news released by the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services. — MNA (Translated by Kyaw Zin Tun)
