A course on traditional medicine was opened at the community center of Yamethin District Information and Public Relations Department in the town of Yamethin in Mandalay Region yesterday.

In the event, Daw Theint Theint Myo, head of the District IPRD explained the purpose of the course. Then, Daw Aye Aye, medical superintendent of traditional medicine hospital, tutor Daw Thinza Hlaing and Daw Thwel Thwel Khaing, instructors of the course, elaborated on the benefits which will be accrued from the course.

The course is designed for the trainees to have knowledge of the basic concepts of traditional medicine, common seasonal fevers, the use of herbal items and do’s and don’ts in traditional medicine.

Altogether 20 trainees from wards and villages in the township are attending the course.— Nay Lin Aung ( IPRD)
