AUTHORITIES have demolished another illegal seven-storey residential building in the Shwe Kokko area, which was reportedly used in online fraud and illegal gambling activities. A coordinated team of relevant departments is continuing the systematic removal of illegal structures linked to online scam operations in the KK Park and Shwe Kokko areas of Myawady Township, Kayin State. Officials said the demolition forms part of ongoing efforts to clear 77 identified buildings used in such activities. Of these, 57 are being demolished using machinery, and 20 are being destroyed through controlled explosive demolition. With the latest demolition, a total of 62 buildings have now been dismentaled, while 15 remain pending for further action. Authorities stated that the government is treating the crackdown on online fraud and illegal gambling as a national priority and is coordinating with neighbouring countries, alongside domestic efforts, to prevent such activities from re-establishing in Myanmar territory. — MNA/KZL
