THE Shwedagon Pagoda Board of Trustees stated that the consecration ceremony will be held at the Shwedagon Pagoda in May 2025 after the full-body gold foil donations are completed.

The board has been implementing the process of donating the full-body gold foils to the Shwedagon Pagoda since September 2024, and the donation will be completed before the consecration ceremony.

The gold plates, which will be donated until March 2025, will be included in the full-body gold foil donation.

The Shwedagon Pagoda consecration ceremony is typically held on the full moon day of Kason (Buddha Day) in May each year, and alms-offering ceremonies are also part of the event.

In addition, the Kason water pouring festival is held at the Shwedagon Pagoda on the full moon of Kason. It is planned to conduct both the consecration ceremony and the Kason water pouring festival together when the full-body gold foils are donated in 2025. — ASH/MKKS
